About Linda tran

Born in the Netherlands, Vietnamese roots, 30 years old and currently living with my boyfriend Ferdi and my two cats Mila & Dexter in Utrecht Terwijde. Graduated in 2013 from Hogeschool Utrecht (Communication & Media Design). I work fulltime as a UX designer at KPN since august 2018.  Before KPN I worked as a (lead) UX designer at Rabobank for 5 years. If you want to know more about me as a (professional) person, please feel free to take a look into my life as a UX designer, gamer & traveler.

I AM…

…UX Designer at KPN

and part of the coolest team at KPN online since August 2018. I am responsible for the design and UX part of Direct Sales Online (kpn.com/zakelijk). Together with the product owner, content managers and online marketeers we are developing and creating the best online user experience for the KPN business market. My specialty is Interaction/UX design for desktop and mobile. I also have experience in user research, creating customer journeys, A/B testing and Visual Design.

User Experience Design

I have 6+ years work experience as a UX designer with Rabobank and KPN on my CV. I have experience in interaction design, prototyping, visual design, & service design.

User research

As a UX designer it’s important to have skills as a UX researcher since you can’t be a good UX designer without testing with users. I have experience in Usability testing, RITE & A/B testing.

Webdesign

My passion for design started with webdesign, so it’s safe to say I have also a lot of experience in Webdesign. In the last couple of years I created many different websites & webshops.

…creative

Since I was a little girl I loved to create things. From drawing my own magazines (and trying to sell these to my little sister) to creating perfume bottles out of clay. Besides my passion for designing digitally I also love to design other things like baking and creating birthday cakes, building miniature rooms and creating paper designs like scrapbooking and bullet journaling. I also love to do creative workshops like the ones I did with the KPN team: Workshop visualizing and graffiti. I am always in for something new so I am constantly looking for a new way to create cool things.

…A Gamer(Grill)

One of my greatest passions is playing videogames. I don’t want to say videogames is what I live for, but okay videogames is what I live for. I own a PS4, a Nintendo Switch and a PC. My all time favorite games are the Witcher 3, the Legend of Zelda Ocarina of Time and Hellblade. I love to play all kinds of games: RPG’s, sandbox games, survival games, FPS, single player games with a good story in it etc. At the moment I play Divinity Original Sin, Apex Legends and Overwatch, while I’m waiting for a new cool RPG to come out. I’m not good enough to be a professional gamer, but I have a good gamesense and enough gaming experience to keep up with the guys i’m playing with.

…A traveler

Very cliche, but I love to travel (who doesn’t). It’s safe to say I feel most alive when I’m in a new country with lots of beautiful, exciting places to explore. One of my favorite countries to travel to is Japan. I love Japan for the people, their culture, their nature, wonderful cities and of course: their food. Iceland and Australia are still on my wishlist and maybe in the future if I learn to appreciate the sun and the beaches a bit more I would also love to travel to countries like Thailand and Indonesia.

…Linda Tran

If I had to describe myself I would say i am an empathic, social & creative person who is always there for those who need it. I am a good teamplayer, a good organizer (of work/fun related things, not household related unfortunately) and I have a great sense of responsibility. If other people would describe me they would probably describe me as someone who is caring, creative, stressful and well organized (again only when it’s work/fun related). They would also probably say I shouldn’t take life so serious, so I tend to work on that. Although I’ve grown in the past few years I still sometimes have problems with saying no and I tend to become a workaholic when I start doing something that I love (or want to learn so badly) In my free time I love to play games, read, cook (eat) and travel. I also enjoy spending time with my family/friends, but I also enjoy being on my own playing games/reading a book.

Like what you see?

I’m always happy to talk about my projects and work as a UX designer. Or to talk about videogames or my other passions. Just send me a message and I’ll get back at ya! 🙂
